Search and Rescue Services
Air scent dogs typically work off lead, methodically working an area searching for a live human scent.
Given an article used by the lost person, trailing dogs identify with a particular scent and follow the path taken by the lost person.
Cadaver dogs are specialized air scent dogs that seek out human remains.
Water dogs are specialized cadaver dogs that are trained to search lakes, rivers and other bodies of water.
Our team members respond to requests 365 days a year, 24/7. Despite inclement weather and other physical obstacles, CAESAR helps locate missing children and the elderly, and participates in water rescue and cadaver recovery. Our team is dispatched through Allegheny County 911 and StatMediVac. We support the efforts of searchers in counties across Western Pennsylvania free-of-charge.
On average, we respond to 30+ requests each year for searches involving:
- Missing children
- Dementia and Alzheimer’s patients
- Water rescue Cadaver recovery
- C.A.E.S.A.R.’s main focus is education and training.
Note. C.A.E.S.A.R. does not perform search services to find lost pets. Please look at these links for help.
